When we moved to France and started creating ZONE BLEUE, we felt we had nothing that would fit in our new home. We had never owned a chandelier, antique furniture, plates, glasses, decanters, mirrors you name it. It soon became an addiction (Edith would say Peter’s addiction….) to search on weekend flea markets/brocantes in our area and brocante/antique shops , and over time the rooms, the wine cellar, the Salons, the hall, the attic and the barn has been filled with local “treasures” that we never knew we needed….
So, if you share the same addiction, this is some places you can go treasure hunting. There are many more and this is only some of them, so we are sure you can also find your own places as well...
For weekend flea markets we use the below link to show us the relevant events and their location in Allier. You can use it for all of France and search the relevant department number ie. 03 for Allier and 63 for Puy de Dome. It will tell you how big the event is and it can be everything between a private House clearance to markets with hundreds of participants.
